OUR STORY

The Story Behind the Partnership

Metro Philadelphia Church Planting Partnership is a network of five presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church in America that share a vision to saturate the region with good, Gospel-centered churches.  We combine our resources of experience, wisdom, training, assessment and coordination in pursuit of our vision, believing that we will accomplish more together than we can separately.

Our Leadership

Robert Kim and Robert Carr serve the church in the Greater Philadelphia area by recruiting, assessing, coaching, encouraging, and praying for church planters.  Read about the transition from Bruce Finn to Robert Kim.

Our Values

We have five distinct set of values that guide our mission to plant churches in the Greater Philadelphia area – Gospel, church e have a distinct set of values that guide our mission to plant churches in the Greater Philadelphia area, planting churches strategically,  provision, partnership, and diversity.

The Gospel

  • The need for Gospel proclamation is urgent in our day.

Church Planting

  • The best way to fulfill the great commission of Jesus Christ is through a church multiplication movement.

  • The presbyteries will grow primarily through church planting.

  • We will be open to various methods of church planting to reach the wide range of unchurched people in our region.

  • We will proactively select key locations for new churches.

Abundance

  • Every church has resources (prayer, time, ministries, money, and people) that could be invested in church planting.

  • We believe that there is adequate funding available for the right church planting projects.

Partnership

  • We will succeed in our efforts to start new churches to the degree that we cooperate together in a partnership.

Diversity

  • We will give special emphasis to reaching the ethnic and immigrant communities of our region through both mono-ethnic/mono-cultural and multi-ethnic/multi-cultural church planting.
